Over the last term, Penguins Class have been combining Design Technology with Art and Reading/Writing by designing and creating a 'Pop-up-Book' to inspire and entertain our younger pupils.

They have been learning to assemble components, hide mechanical elements with layers using spacers and how to use a range of mechanisms to create an eye-catching book based on the well-known nursery rhyme - Jack and Jill. 

To put their work to the test, and to celebrate all that is reading on World Book Day, the children took their books to Robins and Swans for story time and received a big 'thumbs up' from the children, who thoroughly enjoyed exploring the mechanisms and components of the books.
